An engine light, poor starting or a car that has started running differently needs checking. Our mobile diagnostic service brings fault finding to a suitable location around Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Fault codes and warning lights
We connect diagnostic equipment to read available fault information and discuss it alongside the symptoms. Depending on the vehicle and system, checks can include recorded codes, relevant readings and warning-light information.
A fault code is a starting point for diagnosis. It does not automatically mean that the component named in the code needs replacing. We explain the findings and what further checks or repairs may be needed.
Starting and running problems
Tell us whether the vehicle will not crank, cranks without starting, cuts out, runs roughly or has lost power. Include when the problem began and whether it happens cold, warm or after the vehicle has been standing.
For an intermittent problem, a photo of the warning and a description of when it appears can be useful. Do not clear codes before the visit just to remove a warning.
A useful result from the visit
We talk you through the information we can obtain and the next step. Some jobs can be investigated at your location; others need workshop testing, mechanical repairs or manufacturer-specific equipment. If the car needs moved, we can arrange recovery.
Book a diagnostic visit
Send your registration, location and symptoms. Tell us about recent repairs, a replacement battery or any previous diagnosis. We confirm the scope and price of the visit before booking.
Diagnostic questions
Will clearing a code fix the car?
Clearing a code does not repair the cause. We use the fault information and symptoms to discuss the issue and appropriate next steps.
Can you diagnose every make and system?
Coverage depends on the vehicle, system and required procedure. Send your registration and the problem so we can check whether the mobile visit is suitable.
Can I book even if the car still drives?
Yes. Contact us to arrange a diagnostic visit. If you are unsure whether the vehicle is safe to drive, describe the warning and symptoms when you call.
Book the service van
