The AWPR is a bypass with named junctions, not a suburb you can describe as “near Aberdeen”. Charleston and Cleanhill on the south and west, Kingswells and the A944, Craibstone for the airport / A96, Parkhill on the north toward Bridge of Don — those names get the truck to the right merge. A pin without direction of travel on this road is half a job: the two carriageways are a long way apart at some junctions. Say whether you passed Stonehaven, Countesswells, Kingswells, Craibstone or Parkhill last. Hard-shoulder rules and live-lane stops are the same problem as any modern dual — do not walk the carriageway looking for a marker. Peak airport and AWPR traffic both sit on the Craibstone–Dyce end.
When you call from the AWPR
Registration, live pin, direction, last junction name, and whether it rolls, steers and brakes. Missing wheels or a car against the barrier need a photo. WhatsApp 07475 722702 if you cannot stay on the line. If you have already left the carriageway at a junction, say which exit you took.
Bypass breakdown versus a park-and-ride collection
A live AWPR stop is recovery now. A non-runner in the Kingswells park-and-ride or a Prime Four unit is a different access plan — gate, barrier, height. Emergency still calls; a dateable move goes to quotes.dsbm.uk.
ETA from Fraserburgh
Fraserburgh truck, A90 south, then the bypass. Kingswells and Craibstone are city-fringe time; the Stonehaven / Charleston end is longer. Closures and peak airport traffic move the clock. Time given when we have the pin.
