When severe snow and drifting hit the Fraserburgh area, recovery stopped being normal day-to-day transport work and became a community response.

DSBM worked to reach stranded motorists and help get people home. Dylan Masson spoke to BBC Scotland News about the difficult recoveries, volume of calls and friends who helped cover jobs the company could not immediately reach.

Winter recovery changes by the hour.

Drifting, closures, abandoned vehicles and untreated roads can make a normal route impossible. In severe weather, DSBM assesses whether the recovery vehicle can reach a customer safely before committing to an approach.
