Helping during severe snow in Fraserburgh

Severe snow and drifting around Fraserburgh brought repeated calls from stranded motorists. DSBM worked to reach people, with friends helping cover jobs the team could not immediately attend.

Dylan Masson spoke to BBC Scotland News about the volume of calls, the difficult recoveries and the effort to get motorists home safely and warm. It was a period when local knowledge and help from others became part of the response.

The conditions changed the work.

Snowdrifts, abandoned vehicles and blocked routes can prevent a normal approach to a breakdown. Reaching a vehicle becomes part of the recovery plan, before loading and onward movement can be considered.
