After Storm Floris brought down trees and debris across the North East, DSBM sent three teams out to help clear local roads before the morning commute.

Community help until 5am.

The crews continued through the night until around 5am. This road-clearing assistance was provided without charge as community help during the disruption.

Across the local area.

Locations recorded in the operation included Strichen, New Deer, St Combs, Rathen, Turriff, Banff Road, Maud, Peterhead, Crimond, Fraserburgh, Mintlaw, New Pitsligo, Longside and Rosehearty.

Local roads connect everything.

When rural roads are blocked, people can be cut off from work, home and the routes they normally rely on. The overnight response is part of DSBM’s history of helping local communities when severe weather affects the North East.

Recovery during severe weather.

Current recovery calls are assessed against the location, access and conditions on the day. Tell us about road closures or obstructions when you call so we can discuss an appropriate route and arrival estimate.
