The collection point, destination and travel needed to complete the job all matter. A short vehicle movement can still involve travel to reach it. Ask which mileage is included in the quote, including travel to the pickup and the return journey where applicable; the distance your car is carried is only part of the work.
Tell us the required day and time. A planned weekday move, an urgent night call-out and a snow recovery may involve different work and availability. We confirm the applicable call-out and travel charges for the job.
Loading can change the work involved
Tell us whether the vehicle starts, rolls and steers, and whether any wheel is locked or damaged. The registration, size, load and ground clearance help us assess suitable equipment. Skates, winching, a pull-out from soft ground or extra loading time may affect the price. Send photos if access or accident damage is difficult to describe.

Compare the total for the same collection, destination, vehicle condition and timing. Ask which items apply and what is already included:
- Call-out and travel: the attendance and agreed mileage.
- Loading and extraction: skates, winching, a snow or mud pull-out, and any additional time or equipment.
- Waiting and access: a closed garage, missing keys or restrictions that delay the handover.
- Accident-related work: any agreed cleanup, extra handling or insurance administration.
- Storage and onward delivery: the agreed storage period, collection arrangements and later movement if needed.
These are possible charges, not an automatic list of extras for every recovery. We discuss the work and price before you agree. Tell us if the vehicle condition or destination changes so the quote can be checked before additional work is carried out.

Why is recovery not always priced by loaded miles alone?
The work also includes travelling to the collection, loading, securing and completing the agreed journey. Ask which travel mileage is covered, including the return journey where applicable.
Is the online estimate the final price?
The calculator gives a rough guide based on the details entered. DSBM confirms the route, vehicle condition, loading, availability and agreed price before booking. An estimate does not confirm dispatch.
Will every recovery need extra charges?
No. Skates, winching, waiting, cleanup, storage or onward delivery only apply where relevant to the agreed work. Tell us about the vehicle and access so we can explain what is included.
Can I get a quote before choosing the garage?
You can ask for a guide estimate using the destination area, but tell us that the garage is not decided. The exact destination and handover arrangements need confirming before the job price is agreed.
