Crichie, on paper Stuartfield, sits on the B9030 south of Mintlaw with no A-road through the square. Wind-turbine traffic, potato lorries and farm steadings off the Maud and Old Deer back roads are what actually block a trailer — not a dual-carriageway hard shoulder. This is not Mintlaw industrial-estate work and it is not Old Deer’s park gates. DSBM Auto Center Ltd still starts at 2 Fordafourie Cottages, Fraserburgh. The crew reaches Crichie after Cortes and Mintlaw; if the live truck is already at Peterhead the run is shorter. A house name on a farm road is worth more than “near Stuartfield”.
