Buying the car and getting it home are two separate arrangements. DSBM provides planned vehicle transport from its Fraserburgh base, including Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and wider UK journeys. Share the collection and delivery details so we can quote for the actual move.
Agree the release with the seller
Before choosing a collection slot, confirm that the seller is ready to release the vehicle to a transporter. Agree who will be there, how the vehicle will be identified and which keys and documents will accompany it. Give us the seller's contact details with their permission and pass on any collection reference.
Vehicle transport is not an inspection of the purchase or a guarantee about its condition. Resolve questions about the sale directly with the seller before arranging collection. Let us know if the seller has a limited handover window.
Describe how the vehicle can be loaded
Send the registration, make and model, and tell us whether the car starts, drives and has working keys. Declare known damage, locked wheels, low ground clearance or modifications. For a non-runner, explain what is known rather than assuming it can be loaded in the same way as a running car.
Photographs supplied by the seller can help explain the condition and parking position. Ask for current details if the listing is unclear. Our non-runner transport guide explains which information matters for a vehicle that cannot drive.
Check access at both ends
Provide full collection and delivery addresses, including postcodes. Tell us about narrow roads, gated sites, low entrances, restricted parking or a car stored behind other vehicles. A map pin is useful when the entrance differs from the postal address.
- Confirm an available contact at the collection.
- Describe the vehicle and any loading difficulties accurately.
- Agree where the vehicle is to be delivered and who will receive it.
- Tell us about time restrictions before a slot is arranged.
- Report any change to the seller's plans or the car's condition promptly.
Request the transport quote
Use the online quote form for your route, vehicle and preferred timing. We confirm availability, the work involved and the agreed price before booking. Ask whether any waiting or special loading is included, especially if the collection depends on another appointment.
For a longer journey, give us the date the vehicle is ready and any flexibility you have. Do not promise the seller a collection time until it has been agreed with DSBM. Call 01224 044741 if you need to discuss the arrangements before requesting a quote.
Your questions, answered.
Do I have to attend the collection?
Tell us if the seller will handle the handover without you. The seller must agree to release the vehicle, and the contact, keys and collection arrangements need to be confirmed.
Can you collect a non-running purchase?
Provide the condition, access and any locked-wheel or damage details first. We can then assess suitable equipment and quote for the collection.
Can the car go straight to a garage?
Yes, you can request a quote to your chosen garage. Confirm that it will receive the vehicle and give us its address, contact and agreed handover instructions.
Tell us about the job.
