Foggieloan is a planned village of North Street and South Street, not a lay-by on a trunk road. The B9023 runs that grid; the A97 Banff–Huntly road sits a short farm-link away, and that is usually how a recovery truck actually arrives. DSBM is not based here. The yard is 2 Fordafourie Cottages, Fraserburgh AB43 7UD, so a Foggie call is an inland Banffshire run via Turriff — not a Broch harbour job and not a Huntly depot. Typical work is a van that died on the square, a car wedged in a tenement lane, or a pickup in a steading off the Cornhill road.

The village is walkable but the loading is not: parked cars on South Street, tight corners onto the square, and farm yards where satnav drops you in a close with no turning circle. If you came off the A97, say whether you were Banff-bound or Huntly-bound. Cornhill, Knock and the back road toward Turriff all change which truck we send. Give the registration, North Street / South Street / the square or the farm name, and whether the vehicle rolls, steers and brakes. Locked wheels, a missing wheel after an RTC, or a car behind a stacked bale yard need a photo. “Near Aberchirder” is not an address — the B9023 and the A97 are different jobs.

Village and steading notes

There is no industrial estate here worth naming. What we actually meet is agricultural access: slurry-slick concrete, low sheds, and gates that will not take a long trailer. We would rather winch to a hardstanding on the B9023 than force a low loader into a close. School-run parking on the grid streets is the other regular delay.

Breakdown and accident recovery

24/7 from Fraserburgh: non-starters on the square, RTCs on the A97 approaches, 4x4s in fields, vans that will not fire on a mart morning. Loading follows the vehicle and the ground in front of us. This is Aberdeenshire-local recovery, not a long-haul dispatch.
